Welcome to my website.
Like many artists, I am by choice a solitary person and the theme of solitude and alienation recurs throughout my work.
I am drawn to translucent media for their vibrancy, clarity and glow. Thus I have chosen to work in watercolor, archival ink, and acrylics applied in watercolor techniques. The works on paper featured here are created on the very best paper and many are also available as prints on canvas and dye sublimation on aluminum in addition to the originals.
My digital painting work is arrived at through a technique of scanning and or photographing my own drawings, brush strokes and washes, so that the spirit of my style and gestures is maintained in my art prints. Through the painstaking work of altering innumerable layers, I achieve painterly results. I constantly strive for strong compositions and original color juxtapositions.
As the co-owner of a sculpture gallery, I discovered a talent for sculpting in bronze and developed a style of abstracted figures, in the tradition of The Bay Area Figurative Movement. Several works from this period are offered here.
I hope that you enjoy my artwork!
